Charles Finn

WOOSTER - Charles F. Finn, 68, of Wooster, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, Nov. 18, 2005, at Fairview Hospital.

Services will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at the United Methodist Church of Wooster, with the Rev. Dr. David Wilcox and the Rev. Marshall Brandon officiating. Interment will be at Wooster Cemetery.

Friends may call Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at McIntire, Davis & Greene Funeral Home, 216 E. Larwill St., Wooster.

Those who wish may make contributions to American Red Cross, Wayne County Chapter, 124 N. Walnut Street, Wooster; the Salvation Army, Wooster Corps, 437 S. Market St., Wooster; and Hospice & Palliative Care of Greater Wayne County, 2525 Back Orrville Road, Wooster 44691.

Charles was a devoted son, husband, father, grandfather and friend. Committed to his life’s work, he was admired and respected by those he served.

Active in the community, “Chuck” loved Wooster and Wayne County, but most of all, he loved home, his family and many wonderful friends.

He was born Oct. 3, 1937, in Wooster to Charles H. and Elva O. (Raudebaugh) Finn and was a graduate of Wooster High School, The College of Wooster, Akron University and Ohio School of Banking.

He was the Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of the Board of Wayne Savings Community Bank and Chairman of Wayne Bancshares Inc.

Chuck was very community oriented as a member of the United Methodist Church of Wooster, where he served as finance chairman for many years. He was also a member of Wooster Area Chamber of Commerce Board and a former member of Wayne County Developmental Council Board, Big Brothers, Wooster Rotary Club, Main Street Wooster Board, Board of Directors for West View Manor and a number of other boards and commissions.

Surviving are his wife, Wanda Christopher-Finn, to whom he had been married 20 years; sons, C. Scott (Robin) Finn of Mansfield and Steven J. (Joleen) Finn of Shreve; stepchildren, Lori (Mark) Crowley of Freeport, Maine, and David (Daniela) Christopher II of Streetsboro; grandchildren; Jaclyn, Chelsea, Jacob, Alexandra, Jessica, Kelsey, Patrick, Tyler, Calvin and Nicolette; a sister, Donna Domer of Wooster; his father-in-law, Ted Martin of Killbuck; and sisters- and brothers-in-law, Ned (Nancy) Orr of Apple Creek and Judith (Jerry) Allison of Killbuck.

Services for Charles F. Finn, 68, of Wooster, were held Wednesday.

Pallbearers were Jerry and Blaine Allison, Ned and Brian Andrew Orr, Bob Wellington, Dick Beaver, Jacob Finn and Matthew Zickefoose.

Honorary pallbearers were Theodore Martin, Don Massaro, Ron Mitchel, Kenneth Rhode, Georg Kubina and Terry Biddle.
