Funeral services for Mrs. Christina Pittman, 84, of Wall Lake, were held Monday, April 2, 1979, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Wall Lake with Msgr. J.E. Tolan officiating.

Mrs. Pittman was born Sept. 16, 1894, at Breda, Iowa, the daughter of Anton and Mary Merritt Tiefenthaler and passed away March 30, 1979 at St. Anthony;s Regional Hospital in Carroll, Iowa.

Music for the service was by the church choir accompanied by Mrs. Norbert Snyder.

Pallbearers were John Tiefenthaler, Alan Tiefenthaler, Mark Tiefenthaler, Dean Tiefenthaler, Arnold Meyer and Gary Koster.

She is survived by a son Virgil Pittman, Wall Lake; daughter Valaria, Mrs. Melvin Meister, Wall Lake; daughter, Viva Lee, Mrs. Edward Pickhinke, Early; son Virtus Pittman, Wall Lake; son Verlin Pittman, Wall Lake; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Also brothers, Louis Tiefenthaler, Carroll; Frank Tiefenthaler, Wall Lake; Alfred Tiefenthaler, Carroll; John Tiefenthaler, Carroll; and Arthur, Raymond and Cyril Tiefenthaler, all of Carroll.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Anthony; son, Verial; brother, William, and sisters Mary and Rose.

Burial was made in the Wall Lake Cemetery under the direction of Farber-Otteman Funeral Home of Wall Lake.
