Born in Pfeifer, Saratov, Volga, Russia.

Married: Apollonia Meier, about 1853. After Johannes died, she 2nd-married 6/22/1897 to Joseph Wittman in Liebenthal, Kansas.

Brother: Johann Adam Suppes (abt. 1830-abt. 1865). His son, Adam (see link below), was raised by Johannes (this page) and Apollonia.

---------------------------

I know that there is some confusion on John (Johannes) Suppes. He was never married to Anna Margaret Jacobs, who is my G-G Grandmother. She was married to his brother Johann Adam Suppes who died in Russia. That Johann Adam Suppes died shortly after the birth of my G-grandpa Adam Suppes. He was then given to John (Johannes) Suppes and his wife Appolonia (sp) to raise. When he died in 1895, she remarried (Joseph Wittman, see above).

So this John Suppes would have been a brother-in-law to Anna Margaret Jacobs. Anna Margaret Jacobs second husband after the death of Adam in about 1863, she then married Philip Melchoir.

Don't think that this will allow me to send a picture of the census from 1857, that might help. If you disagree with this, and I don't mean to step on toes, than disregard, but I see a lot of family trees that are misinformed about what happened here. Thanks
