Stella was united in marriage to Joseph Zima in St. Mary's Church, N.Y.M.; the couple resided in the village. Mr. Zima passed away in 1978. She was employed by Mohawk Valley Workshop, Utica, until her retirement. She was a member of Sacred Heart/St. Mary's Church, N.Y.M., and Malsan Jones V.F.W. Post 7393 Ladies Auxiliary. Stella was an avid Yankee and Ranger fan, she enjoyed her Polish music on Saturday mornings, and her family will miss her dearly.
Survivors include her daughter, Carol (Darrel) Shanne, Yorkville; her son, Ted Zima, N.Y.M.; her daughter, Marsha Hart, Clinton; five grandchildren, Darcey (Michael) Park, Frankfort, Christopher Shanne, N.C., Jason (Carolynn) Zima, N.Y.M., Holley Owens, Utica, and Charles (C.J.) Hart, Buffalo; and six great-grandchildren. Also surviving are a sister, Eileen Fryc, N.Y.M; two brothers, Henry Rogowski, FL, and Ed (Mary Lourdes) Rogowski, Yorkville; and several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her sister, Helen.
Her funeral will be Tuesday, February 18, 2014, at 12:30 p.m. from Wolanin Funeral Home, Inc., 266 Main St., N.Y. Mills, and at 1 p.m. from Sacred Heart/St. Mary's Church, N.Y. Mills. Burial in Sts. Stanislaus & Casimir Cemetery, Whitestown. Calling hours will be held Tuesday, February 18, 2014, from 11 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.
