CLAYTON - Earl David Boult, formerly of Hillsville, Va., and Athens, W.Va., went home to be with his little brother on Thursday, Feb. 20, 2014 at his home following a long illness. He was 80. Born Jan. 6, 1934, at Troutdale Virginia, he was the son of the late Thomas Marion Bolt and Josephine Edna Gooslin. Earl was retired from the Boxwood Plant of General Motors in Wilmington. He was an avid hunter and outdoor sportsman and enjoyed his week long trips to the mountains with his family and friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Phyllis; his brothers, George (Sonny) Bolt, Wayne Bolt, and John Bolt; sisters, Dorothy Wilkie, Ruby Hamilton, Mary Bolt, Lorene Harrington, Logene Eastridge and Bonnie Bolt. Survived by his wife, Linda; and their son, Earl D. Boult Jr. and from his first marriage, two sons, Rick D. Boult and wife Agnes of Virginia and Barry E. Boult Sr., of Delaware; one daughter, Christine G. Weller and husband Donnie, of Virginia; seven grandchildren, Lisa Carp and husband, Justin, David, Justin, Katie, Barry Jr., Michael Boult and Sabrina Pyle; and one great-granddaughter, Analeigh Carp. He is also survived by two brothers, Eugene and Lewis (Buddy) Bolt; and four sisters, Ruth Taylor, Pearl Kita, Joanne Eastridge and Betty Tober; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
