George 'Sonny T. Bolt, 70

CLAYTON - George "Sonny" T. Bolt, of Clayton, passed away peacefully in his home, Wednesday, Feb. 4, 2009, following a courageous battle with cancer. He was 70. Mr. Bolt was born Aug. 22, 1938, in Troutdale, Va., the son of the late Thomas M. and Josephine Gooslin Bolt. He worked as a self-employed carpet mechanic. Mr. Bolt was an avid sportsman and former member of the NRA and enjoyed spending time with his grandsons, Brian and Tommy Walker to whom he was a special G-Daddy. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four sisters. Mr. Bolt is survived by his wife, Rebecca Hammond Bolt; two sons, Wayne Bolt and his wife Donna and their children Preston and Courtney of San Diego, Calif., and Jay Bolt of Harbeson and his son Ricky; a daughter, Dawn Walker and her husband Brian of Smyrna; three brothers and four sisters and many nieces and nephews. Services will be 2 p.m. Sunday in the Faries Funeral Chapel, 29 South Main St., Smyrna, where friends may call one hour prior to the services. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions be made to Delaware Hospice, 911 South DuPont Highway Dover, DE 19901, the Brain Injury Association of Delaware, 32 West Loockerman St., Suite 103 Dover, DE 19904 or to Peach Tree Acres, 2600 Lewes-Georgetown Highway, Harbeson, DE 19951.
