With many loving memories, the family of Lillian Mass of St. Paul Lutheran Home in Melville and formerly of Lemberg, SK announces her passing at the age of 79 years. Lillian was born to Philipp and Annie Bender. Lillian was the 2nd oldest of seven children. Lillian was born and raised on the family farm. She attended the Baber Farm School. On the farm she did her fair share of farm chores. Lillian was predeceased by her husband of 58 years, Wilfred, in April of 2009. Lillian enjoyed her family, friends and grandchildren. She enjoyed bowling and always looked forward to getting together with the relatives for birthdays and social gatherings. Left to cherish her memory are: son Brian (Joanne) and daughter Charlene (Dan) Kanciruk of Regina; six grandchildren, Joey (Stacey), Jamie, Jeremy Kanciruk (Jen Duesterbeck) and Sarah (Josh Baber), Brent and Paul Mass, and seven greatgrandchildren, Skyla, Kelsey, Paxton (Linda Holden), Haven, Jet, Oceania, and Layla. She is also survived by her sisters Bernice Frick, twin sister Pearl Patzwald; brothers, Ron (Audrey), Glen (Bev), Bill (Eleanor), and Art (Laurette); and her numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brothers-in-law Willie Frick and Wilbert Patzwald. Visitation for family and friends will be held at Matthews Funeral Home, Melville, at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 7, 2010. The funeral service will be held in Trinity Lutheran Church, Lemberg on Friday, January 8, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. with the Rev. Kim Sherwin officiating. Lillian will be laid to rest in the Lemberg Cemetery. Everyone is welcome to join the family for lunch at the Community Hall following the interment service .
