Funeral services for Walter S. Bond Sr., 67, of Gilbert were held Monday at Community Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. David Oliver officiating.
Interment followed at Oakley Cemetery near Gilbert under the direction of Community Memorial Funeral Home of Winnsboro.
Mr. Bond died Saturday, June 18, 1994 at Glenwood Regional Medical Center in West Monroe.
He was a resident of Gilbert, retired from the U.S. Navy having served during World War II, retired electrician with the State of Louisiana Transportation and Development Department, and a member of Gilbert First United Methodist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Carolyn S. Bond, Gilbert; one daughter, Patricia McDaniel of Wisner; two sons, Walter S. Bond, Jr., Gilbert; Timothy Keith Bond, Winnsboro; four step-children, Kathy Ellerbe, Jigger, Michell Wilson, Baskin; Jennifer McAngus, Victoria, Texas; Mark Choate, Winnsboro; one sister, Tomasia Tarver, Winnsboro; also eight grandchildren and seven step-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Jimmy Evans, Howard Robinson, Leonard McAngus, Willy Berry, Matthew Bass and Brian Wilson.
