CAPTAIN MINOR DIES IN CHICAGO SUNDAY

Captain Grant Minor, age 76, a Veteran Marine man of 40 years experience including 35 years as Master, died at the Marine hospital in Chicago Sunday, where he had been for three and one-half months. He had a heart aliment that troubled him for several years.

The funeral was held at Hahn's Chapel Wednesday afternoon with the Rev. E.F. Helmich officiating. Pallbearers were George O'Boyle, John Moore, Rube Hitt, Otis Goerud, Robert Laurie and Al Wendorf. Those here from outside were Mr and Mrs Garfield Minor of Manitowoc; Mr and Mrs Martin Kinsey; Mrs Roy Kinsey and Sanford Kinsey of Fish Creek; Mrs Sybil Washburn and Merle Minor of DePere; Alfred Minor of Green Bay; Mr and Mrs John Dunlap and son of Menominee, Mich.

A life-long resident of Door County, Capt. Minor was born at Fish Creek to Mr and Mrs Martin Minor, pioneer settlers settlers there. Shortly after coming to this city, he became a Marine man. He was First Skipper of the tug "John Hunsader" of the Smith Company here and among other charges in his career were the tugs "Bennet" and "John L. Herd"

On October 21, 1901, Capt. Minor was married here to Mrs. Margaret Dunlap who still survives together with one son James and one brother, Albert Augustine Minor, last of the Martin Minor family. All reside in this city.
