The body was flown from Winnipeg to Sioux Falls and taken to the Barnard-Dow Funeral home in Hawarden where the rosary was recited at 8 o'clock Tuesday night.
A prayer service was held at 8 o'clock Sunday evening in the Carl Leatherdale Funeral home at Winnipeg, Fr. A. Seamon officiating.
Requiem mass was said Monday morning in the St. Norbert Catholic church, St. Norbert, Manitoba, Fr. Leo Couturc officiating. Interment was at Hawarden next to her husband, August Pilla, in St. Mary's cemetery here.
Mrs. Pilla was born in Fallmuth, Ky. She moved to Canada in 1905, settling in Muenster, Saskatchewan. She, her husband and family came to the Chatsworth and Hawarden area in 1935. She returned to Canada to reside in Winnipeg in 1951, after the death of her husband. They had farmed in the Chatsworth area, later purchasing a home in Hawarden.
She is survived by seven sons, Frank in Winnipeg, Leo of Nipawain, Sask., Henry of St. Catherines, Ontario, Ralph of Muenster, Sask., John of Orange, Tex., Lawrence of Pitt Meadows, British Columbia, and Norman of Alcester; four daughters, Mrs. Otto (Clara) Schreiner of Lake Lenore, Sask., Mrs. Conrad (Rose) Kieplen of St. Rose Du Lac, Manitoba, Mrs. Henrietta Suttorp of Beausejour, Manitoba, and Mrs. F.B. (Austa) Westendorf of St. Norbert, Manitoba; a brother, A. Friday of Minneapolis; two sisters, Mrs. M. Kickey of Fairbury, Neb., and Mrs. A. McGillicudy of Omaha; 49 grandchildren, and 67 great grandchildren.
