Born in Colchester, Jane and her family moved to Ongar in 1811, moving three years later to a farm in the town after Jane's marriage. With assistance from her sister Ann, Jane published in 1806 the children's book 'Rhymes For The Nursery', which includes her popular 'Twinkle Twinkle Little Star'. She was buried in the same vault as her parents.
