Lorraine Marie Johnston, 72, of Marysville, died Saturday, January 8, 2011 following a long illness. She was born July 30, 1938 in Port Huron, to the late George and Dorothy Langolf. She married Elton R. Johnson on March 15, 1958 in Port Huron. He preceded her in death on October 22, 2005. Mrs. Johnston was a homemaker but worked a short time at Mary Maxim. She enjoyed traveling with her family and wintering in Florida with her husband. Bowling, bingo and family gatherings were her joys in life. She lived many years at the Harrington Inn Assisted Living where she leaves behind many friends. She is survived by two daughters, Deborah (Len) Giacalone of China Township, Genevera "Jennie" (Dale) Nuss of Plymouth; son, Richard (Amy) Johnston of Avoca; seven grandchildren, Michael Giacalone, Alex Giacalone, Matthew (Katherine) Nuss, Nicholas (Amber) Nuss, Chelsea Nuss, Dylan and Kacie Johnston, two great grandchildren, Evelyn Nuss and Liam Nuss; four sisters, Katherine Blimpke, Norene Hinchen, Selma (Bill) Redpath and Judy Avers; three brothers, John (Wanda) Langolf, Norman (Mary Lou) Langolf, and Sylvester (Wanda) Langolf; sister-in-law, Lois Langolf; and many nieces and nephews. A Memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, January 14. 2011, in the Marysville Funeral Home with visitation one hour prior to the service. The Reverend Donald R. Doerzbacher will officiate. Inurnment will be in the Riverlawn Cemetery Columbarium. Memorials may be made to the Blue Water Area Humane Society or Mid City Nutrition.
