PAUL SAUBER grocer born in Germany April October 1843 Came to Wisconsin in at Port Washington Where His Father Purchased a farm and I Remained till 1858 When to Kenosha and Went to work at the brick business for four years In 1862 I enlisted in the Regt for nine months service afterward joining the 1st Wis Heavy Artillery in 1865 have out and returned to Kenosha in November 1869 I opened a grocery store on His present location in 1868 I married Miss Barbara Bremer native of Wisconsin HAD five children three girls and two boys The family members of the Catholic Church
