Helen Erb Colonel died during child birth.
She is survived by her husband John Boniface Colonel; and 2 infant daughters, Caroline, Catherine.

Hey cousins---I was in a nearby Hamilton County library to research something on another side of the family. While there, I looked through Hamilton County, Ohio Church Burial Records. In the volume covering 1860-1869, I found Katherine Colonel, died 18 Sept. 1865 and buried 19 Sept.---maiden name, Erb. Funeral at St. Paul German Evangelical Church. Age 24 years, 7 months. I am certain that this is YOUR ancestor---(I am descended from Boniface Colonel's 2nd wife). One puzzling thing is that the funeral was at a Protestant church. Maybe there's more to the story, but there were plenty of German Catholic churches listed in the book as well. I had assumed that she died in 1863 with the birth of your Catherine Colonel Burgermyer. Perhaps she died after giving birth to a 3rd child that didn't survive. At this point, I suppose we'll never know, but I am convinced this is the right person--
