Lynne Cameron Slaughter, 60, of East Palatka, passed away Wednesday, April 9, 2014 at Haven Hospice Roberts Care Center following an extended illness.

A native and lifelong resident of Putnam County, she was a 1971 graduate of Palatka South High School. Lynn retired as a fiscal assistant in 2012 from the St. Johns River Water Management District, where she had worked for 16 years. Prior to that, she had worked in the building and zoning department with Putnam County and in years past, had worked at First Federal Savings and Loan. Lynne enjoyed working with crafts and making jewelry, painting and crocheting. She was a member of Hillcrest Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Jaime Lynne Slaughter.

She is survived by her husband of 35 years, Glenn Slaughter of East Palatka, her mother and stepfather, Marjorie Fiorilla and husband John of Cinnaminson, N.J., a son, John Slaughter and wife Milinda of San Antonio, Texas, a daughter, Gwen Slaughter of Cocoa Beach, four brothers, Lee Cameron and wife Debbie of Austin, Texas, Les "Pete" Cameron and wife Karen of Tomball, Texas, John Cameron and wife Myra of Bardin and Matt Cameron and wife Lisa of Bolton, Conn., three sisters, Lou Cameron Hooper and husband Reggie of San Mateo, Donna Cameron of Fort Lauderdale and Stephanie Adams and husband Mike of Jacksonville, a grandson, Austin Slaughter and numerous nieces and nephews.

Services were held at 2 p.m. Monday, April 14 at Johnson-Overturf Chapel in Palatka with Bro. Willie McKinnon officiating. Burial followed at Oak Hill West Cemetery.
