June Brady "J.B." Hicks, 93, of Foust Rd., Staley, died Monday, April 21, 2014 at Moses H. Cone Memorial Hospital in Greensboro.
Funeral Services, 11:00 AM, Wednesday, April 23, 2014, at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church, Staley.
Officiating, Rev. Todd Moore.
Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
He was a native of Randolph County, a retired supervisor with Burlington Industries, thru which he was a member of the Industrial Management Group, and was also a member of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church. After retirement he and his son, Larry became owner/operators of J. B. Hicks & Son Trucking. He was a loving father and grandfather and loved working outdoors and had a greenthumb. He made jewelry and many times gave pieces he made to ladies of the church. June was preceded in death by his wife, Ethel Elizabeth Murray Hicks, and parents, Erastrus and Ada Brady Hicks. sisters, Josephine McMasters, Kate Oats Tedder, Juanita Crutchfield, brothers, Wesley "Mutt" Hicks, Edsel Hicks, and son-in-law, Jerry Farrington.
