Mary C. Hoene, 100, of Bryan, Ohio, passed away Easter Sunday, April 20, 2014, at Genesis Health Care-Bryan Center, after a brief illness, with her family at her side.

Funeral Mass for Mary C. Hoene will begin at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 610 Portland Street, Bryan, Ohio, with Father Jim Halleron officiating. Interment will follow in Fountain Grove Cemetery, Bryan, Ohio. Visitation for Mary Catherine Hoene will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Oberlin-Turnbull Funeral Home-Greensien Chapel, 225 East High Street, Bryan, Ohio. Scripture Services will begin at 7:45 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider memorial contributions to St. Patrick Catholic Church, 610 Portland Street, Bryan, Ohio 43506, or to the charity of the donor's choice. Mary was born Feb. 6, 1914, in Effingham, Illinois the daughter of the late Herman and Catherine (Bloemer) Dust. She married Adolph Hoene on April 30, 1938, in Effingham, Illinois and he preceded her in death on Nov. 9, 1990.

Mary was a devoted homemaker, wife and mother. She had previously worked at the former Vulcon Shoe Factory prior to her marriage to Adolph. Mary was a Precinct worker for the Williams County Board of Elections, serving for over 50 years. She was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church, the Altar and Rosary Society, as well as the Shamrock Ladies Circle. Mary loved to play cards, quilt and found the most joy in spending time with her family.

Surviving are her three children, Joe (Nancy) Hoene of Bryan, Ohio; Virgil (Janice) Hoene of Sherwood, Ohio; and Cyrilla (Dennis) Ball of Wentzville, Missouri; 11 grandchildren; and 31 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Adolph; one son, Edward Hoene; and three brothers, Henry, Frederick and Joseph Dust.
