MRS. MARIA SCHELK, 79, of Sycamore Street, died Saturday evening at Mansfield General Hospital following an extended illness. She was the widow of Philip Schelk.
Mrs. Schelk was born October 10, 1881 in Austria, Hungary, coming to the United States in 1910 and to Mansfield in 1923. She was a member of St. Johns United Church of Christ.
Surviving are two sons, Philip and Daniel, of Mansfield; three daughters, Mrs. Jay Brinley and Mrs. Harvey Fisher, both of Mansfield, and Mrs. Wilbert Brewer of Mt. Gilead; 21 grandchildren and 34 great-grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Elizabeth Reiter of Mansfield.
