Hugo Zutz, Sr., formerly of Brillion, age 86, died Monday, Nov. 30, 1992 in Appleton.

He was born Oct. 23, 1906 in the town of Eaton, Manitowoc County, son of the late William and Martha (Habermann) Zutz. He married Almira Behnke on Nov. 24, 1927 in Collins.

He farmed and did masonry work. He was employed at the Brillion Iron Works as a supervisor for 35 years and retired in 1972. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Brillion.

Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law; Valeria and Milton Vallesky, Brillion; Betty Jane and David E. Karr, Appleton; a son and daughter-in-law; Hugo and Joan Zutz, Brillion, eight grandchildren; Traci and Bill Hoeltke, Manitowoc, Curtis Karr and friend, Mary, Susan Karr, Sarah Karr, all of Appleton; Randall and Susan Zutz, Minneapolis; Jeffrey and Sara Zutz, Middleton; Gregory and Betsy Zutz, St. Francis, Minnesota; Peter Zutz, Boston; five great grandchildren; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law; Bernice Zutz, Valders; Paul and Violet Behnke, Evelyn Kanter, all of Brillion; Elnora Graf, New Jersey; Arno and Elsa Behnke, Freddie and Margaret Behnke, Myrtle Behnke, all of Reedsville; Delia Utke, Alfred and Ester Ziemer, all of Manitowoc; many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife on March 1, 1980 and two brothers.

The funeral service will be Friday at Trinity Lutheran Church, Brillion, with Rev. Ross Henzie officiating. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.
