Thecla G. Parker, 80, Phoenix, Ariz., and formerly of Oldenburg, d., died Saturday, July 21, 1990 in the Humana Hospital, Phoenix, Ariz.

She was born Dec. 4, 1909 in Oldenburg, Ind., the daughter of Joseph and Eleanora Haverkos Gehring. She was married to Ray D. Parker June 27, 1942 in Chicago, Ill., and he survives. She was a retired secretary and homemaker and a member of the St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church in Phoenix, Ariz.

She is survived by her husband, Ray D. Parker, Dreyerhaus Nursing Home, Batesville, Ind.; three brothers, Father Owen Gehring, OFM, and Myron Gehring, both of Batesville, Ind., and Dennis Gehring, Springfield, Ohio; one sister, Mrs. Marce (Frieda) Thalheimer, Batesville, Ind., and numerous nieces and nephews.

Two brothers, Father Gordon and Father Irvin Gehring, preceded her in death.

Services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Holy Family Catholic Church, Oldenburg, Ind., with Fr. Owen Gehring, OFM, officiating.

Burial will be in the Holy Family Catholic Cemetery in Oldenburg, Ind.

Visitation will be at the Weigel Funeral Home, Batesville, Ind., from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday.

There will be a rosary at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
