It was never clear to the next generation whether Jackie was a boy or a girl. Helen Healy, the child's sibling, wasn't sure. She never actually knew Jake or Jackie. The baby died when she was a small girl.. Her mother Emma mentioned the baby more than a few times, even in later years, saying what a fine infant Jackie was and how awful and heart wrenching it was to lose the baby, but the child's sex was never said and no one apparently thought to ask. This author's mother thought she heard the baby was a boy child and lived at least six months. written by Gregory Dorr
