Thomas "Tom" Brandt, age 70, of Aloha, Michigan and formerly of Dearborn, died suddenly on Wednesday, October 2, 2013 in Munising, Michigan at Munising Memorial Hospital surrounded by his dear friends and loving wife. He was born on April 20, 1943 in Ann Arbor, Michigan to the late Philip and Helen (Reed) Brandt. Tom graduated from Dearborn High in 1961. In 1962 he entered into the United States Marine Corps, and proudly served in Vietnam. When Tom returned home, he began working for the Dearborn Fire Department and was transferred to the Police Department where he served for twenty-seven and half years before retirement. On October 12, 1978, Tom married Loni Stefanick and were married nearly thirty-five years. He enjoyed fishing, bird hunting, shooting, and was an avid reader. Tom and Loni loved the time they spent together making friends in the U.P. They have been the Otter Lake Campground Fall Hosts for the past twenty years. Tom was a loving father. He also loved his animals - Katie the dog and Bonnie and Clyde the cats.

He is survived by his wife – Loni of Aloha, MI; children – Philip Brandt of Washington, D.C., Shelly Brandt of Dearborn, and Eric (Shannon) Brandt of Dearborn Heights; and adopted family Gina (Ron) Cruz and their daughter Heather; grandchildren - Kate Lincon, Patrick Brandt, Christopher Brandt, and Kelsey Tomasic; sister – Margaret (Paul) Pattison, and numerous nieces and nephews.
