Mrs Maude HILLEN, 77, of Connellsville, RD2, died at 9:30 pm Sunday in the home of her son, Charles HILLEN of Vanderbilt, RD1, after a lingering illness.
She was born June 16, 1884, in Bullskin Township, a daughter of the late James E and Elizabeth KEFFER MARTIN, and had been a lifelong resident of Bullskin Township. She was a member of the Breakneck Church of God.
Surviving in addition to her son are a daughter, Mrs John R (Florence) MEANS of Connellsville, RD2; a foster daughter, Mrs James (Maudie) MARTIN of Lemont Furnace, RD1; 26 grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren; a brother, Braden C (Harry) MARTIN of Connellsville RD2, a sister, Mrs Bessie MILLER of Connellsville, RD2. She was preceded in death by her husband John in 1942 and a daughter, Mrs Marie CALHOUN, in 1936.
The body will be at the home of her son-in-law and daughter, Mr and Mrs John R MEANS of Connellsville, RD2, after 6 pm today. A prayer service will be held there at 2 pm Wednesday with additional rites at 2:30 pm in the Breakneck Church of God, with the Rev H P ANDERSON officiating. Interment will be in Mount Olive Cemetery.
