Rudolph Carl Huebner, son of Charles H. and Huldah (Seeman) Huebner, was born Dec. 10, 1889 at Mederville in Clayton County, Iowa. He died Sept. 9, 1980 at Community Memorial Hospital in Postville.

His early years were spent in Farmersburg, Elkader and Postville. He attended the Postville schools and was confirmed in St. Paul Lutheran Church. As a young man he worked at the carpenter trade, building many grain elevators in the midwest. Later he joined his step-brother in the dray line and oil business.

June 26, 1917 he married Estella Louise Zieman. In July 1918 he joined the armed forces and served as Sergeant while stationed in Georgia. Following his honorable discharge he returned to Postville where he engaged in farming. During this time he was a member of the Postville Creamery Board and served as President for many years. He was Secretary of the N. E. Iowa Creamery Association until he purchased an interest in Luhman and Sander's Store.

When the old hospital was vacated, Mr. and Mrs. Huebner purchased the building and remodeled it into apartments now known as Mott Manor. He served on the Town Council and was honored by the Postville Jaycees. He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, American Legion, Royal Arch Masons of Iowa, King Solomon Chapter of Decorah, and Senior Citizens.
