Janet Sharp Tannahill was the daughter of Hugh Tannahill and Margaret Mack. Born in 1841, she grew up in a large family. She was one of 12 children. Her parents had immegrated from Scotland just after they were married and Janet was the second child born in Canada. She grew up and married Samuel George Lamb, son on David Lamb and Elizabeth Rennick. They were married on Nov 12, 1867 in Godmanchester when she was 26. She died in 1904, 9 mos. after her beloved Samuel had passed away, in Franklin at the age of 63.
