Hugh Sharp Tannahill was the tenth child of Hugh Tannahill and Margaret Mack. He married Catherine Marie McComb on Jan 28, 1885 when he was 25 and she was 23. They were blessed with five children; Mary Ethel, Margaret Catherine, Janet Lamb, William George and Westlake. Catherine died in 1893. In 1894, Hugh married Elizabeth A.D. Gamble. To this union were born two more children; Christina May and William George. Hugh was very active in his family and you will find his name as witness to many births, marriages and deaths.

06-28-1934 Hugh S. Tannahill, of Huntingdon PQ, died at Ormstown PQ, aged 75 years. He was born 75 years ago on the farm which was operated until his death under the firm name of H. S. Tannahill and sons. Mr. Tannahill was twice married, to Cassie McComb, and Elizabeth Gamble, both deceased. He is survived by four of his children, Jennie, Mrs. Archibald Caldwell of Augusta New Jersey, Tina, Mrs. John Caldwell of Huntingdon, two sons, William G. of Huntingdon and Wesley of Detroit MI, also by his two brothers, Robert of Sawyerville and James of Grand Forks, North Dakota, two sisters, Mrs. Christina Wilson of Ormstown, and Mrs. Agnes Lanktree of Nebraska, and twenty grandchildren, the eldest daughter, Mary, Mrs. D.C. Reid, died in 1920.
