He was the son of Jacob Christ and Susanna Gross and was baptized on 31 May 1794 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Reading, Berks Co., PA.
He married Anna Maria Hepler on 1 May 1814 in Upper Mahanoy Twp., Northumberland Co., PA. They had 8 children: Solomon, Catharina, Lucetia, Emanuel Jr., Maria, Elias, Isaac and John.
Emanuel worked in Lumber/Agriculture and as a Blacksmith. He died in the Mahantongo Valley when only 37 years of age.
NOTE: Emanuel had a brother, Jonathan, who was misrepresented as the father of Catharina (Christ) Masser in Floyd's "Genealogical and Biographical Annals of Northumberland County, Pennsylvania" (p. 498). Emanuel's middle name, if any, is not known to family researchers.
