Mary N. Lynton, 88, of Waco, passed away Tuesday, January 31, 2006, at a local nursing home. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:30 a.m., Friday, Feb. 3, at St. Mary's Church of the Assumption with Father Angelo Bertinni as celebrant. Burial will follow at 1:30 p.m., in Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery in Lott, Texas.

Mary was born in Lott, Texas, to the late John Henry and Annie (Renz) Niekamp. She attended Lott Schools and on October 11, 1942, she married Joseph Lynton. She was a loviing homemaker and caregiver, a member of St. Mary's Church of The Assumption and the Women's Guild of Waco. She enjoyed sewing and spending time with family and friends.

Mary was preceded in death by her husband, on May 4, 1945; a sister, Ida Niekamp; and a brother, Robert Niekamp.

Survivors include her son, William "Bill" Lynton and wife, Crystal, of Dallas; grandson, Wade Lynton and wife, Stephanie; granddaughter, Amy Lynton; great-granddaughter, Clarie Cameron Lynton, all of Birmingham, AL; sisters, Dorothy Descoteaux, of Windsor, Conn., and Irene Scroggins and husband, James, of DeSoto; brothers: Alton Niekamp and Andrew Niekamp, both of Riesel, Raymond Niekamp and wife, Christine, Alvin Niekamp and wife, Ella Mae, all of Waco; several nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.
