Obituary from The Claflin Clarion, Claflin, Kansas, Thursday, April 15, 1937
JULIANA (CHRISBENS) GALLIART Juliana Chrisbens was born on October 25, 1867, at Dobrinka, Russia. She grew to womanhood in that country and was married to Mr. Friedrich Galliart at Galka, Russia, in 1885. In 1887 they emigrated to America, coming to the vicinity of Wilson. A little later Mr. Galliart homesteaded a farm nine miles north and two miles east of Claflin, in Barton County, and there they lived until eight years ago, when they moved to Claflin. In her early childhood she became a member of the Lutheran church and remained a faithful member until her death. After an illness of about two months, Mrs. Galliart passed away on Friday morning, April 9, 1937, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Charles Wood in Claflin, aged 69 years, 5 months and 14 days. To Mr. and Mrs. Galliart were born twelve children, two of whom died in infancy. The ten living children are: Mrs. Charles Wood and Mrs. Joseph Blazek of Claflin, Mrs. Emil Blazek of Hoisington, Fred Galliart of Dorrance, Alex, Ezra and Henry Galliart of Claflin, Mrs. Carl Friebus of Wilson, Eddie of Fort Riley, and Albert of Los Angeles, Calif. These, with their father and eighteen grandchildren, and one brother, John Chrisben
