Rheinhard Klein was the son of Fredrich and Sophia Hefley Klein, and was born February 14, 1880 in Dreispitz, Russia. He came to America in March, 1899 and was married September 11, 1901 to Amelia Stair. In 1902 they moved to Shattuck, Okla., where they resided 14 years. Two years was then spent in Texas after which, in 1918 they moved to Kansas and resided on a farm until 1941, when they moved into Marion. He had been in ill health for a number of years prior to his death. Mr. Klein accepted Christ in 1904, was baptized and was a member of Emmanuel Baptist church.
Mrs. Klein preceded him in death in 1951. One son also preceded him in death. He is survived by two daughters: Tillie Mehlinger, Marion; Martha Davis, Andover; seven sons: Solomon, Abilene; Lapole and Roland, Marion; Edward, Tampa; August, Wichita; Alvin, San Bernardino, Calif.; Arthur, Ft. Collins, Colo.; one brother, Fred, Marion; 21 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren. Music was by Mrs. G. Carol Gilbert and Miss Viola Thompson. Pallbearers at the funeral were Milton Stenzel, William Ollenberger, Ed Geis, Joe Hein, Elmer Pritz, Ferd Winter. The flower committee was Mrs. Wm. Ollenberger, Mrs. Ferd Winter and Mrs. Joe Atherton. Burial was in Marion cemetery.
