Margaret Ann Lauer, a Russian-born woman who lived in the United States most of her life and in Portland 23 years, died Thursday at her home, 12240 NE Holladay Place. She was 71.

Requiem Mass will be 11 a.m. Monday at St. Therese Church. Recitation of the Rosary will be 8 p.m. Sunday at Zeller Chapel of Roses. Burial will be in Gethsemani Cemetery.

Born Oct. 25, 1903, Mrs. Lauer moved to Portland in 1952.

She is survived by her husband John; sons John M., Gresham, Joe, Sterling Colo., Albert and Paul of Denver, Edward, Portland, and Lawrence, Milwaukie; daughters, Joann Samodurov, Gresham, and Josephine Gibson, Portland; 21 grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.
