Also, he appeared in Die Büchse der Pandora (1927), The Hunchback of Notre Dame (1939), The Great Dictator (1940), It Started with Eve (1941) and The Palm Beach Story (1942). He was nominated for Broadway's 1958 Tony Award as Best Supporting or Featured Actor (Dramatic) for "Time Remembered."
