Ralph (Raffaele) Fulco,Sr. was born on April 15, 1892, in the tiny village of Sitizano di Cosoleto, Reggio Calabria, Italy. He made the trans Atlantic crossing by himself, arriving at Ellis Island on December 20, 1906. From there he joined his father, Rock, and older brother Joseph,in Newberg, West Virginia.By 1910 the family that was already in the USA had settled in Bay City, Michigan.Ralph's occupation in the 1910 USC states he was a laborer at a lumber yard.For many years after he would work as a fruit peddler, truck driver and operate a small fruit market.Ralph and his wife, Anna, would raise a family of 12 children and celebrated their Golden wedding anniversary in 1961.
