John Christie Cameron was the oldest of 6 children to Duncan Cameron Sr (1820- Mar 65) and Jane Cameron (Christie) (Dec 1819 - Feb 95).

His siblings were:

In 1861 John (15) a ship's carpenter, was living with his mother and his siblings at 14 Virginia Street, Aberdeen: Jane Cameron (40) merchant servant's wife, Andrew (12), Isabella (9) a scholar, Jane (5) and Duncan (1).

John married Christina Brodie Christie who was his cousin (the daughter of his mother's brother: Alexander Christie Sr).

They had 7 children, all born in Aberdeen, but lost 5 of them in infancy:

Duncan Cameron (1883-1927), and
John Christie Cameron (1889-89) 5 months.

In 1881, John (36) and Christina (32) were living at 18 Virginia Street, Aberdeen, having lost their first 4 children.

In 1891, John (45) ship wright was still living at 18 Virginia Street, Aberdeen, with Christina (43), Christina (9), Duncan (7) and Isabella Rait (62) who was staying with them at least during the census (and was aunt to both John and Christina).
