Mrs. Mary Ann Waltman, 86, passed away Monday, July 28, 2014 surrounded by her family. Visitation will be held Thursday, July 31, 2014 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Lakewood Funeral Home with a funeral mass beginning at 1:00 PM in the funeral home chapel.
Interment to follow at Lakewood Memorial Park.
Mrs. Waltman was born in Seneca, Mississippi to the late Mr. Fred Niemeyer and Mrs. Mary Ann Koerkenmeier Niemeyer.
She was a founding member of St. Therese Catholic Church where she remained a member until her passing. She cherished her family, friends, and the Catholic Church. Mrs. Waltman retired from Sears as an accounting clerk in May of 1992. She will be remembered by her family and friends as one who never met a stranger. She was a loving and caring mother and grandmother who always opened her home to friends, family and strangers.
She is preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Ben Niemeyer, Rev. John Niemeyer, Joe Niemeyer, Henry Niemeyer, and Frank Niemeyer; sisters, Margaret Simmons and Henrietta Holly.
Mrs. Waltman is survived by her loving husband of 59 and a half years, Robert Curtis Waltman; son, Robert Glenn Waltman (Cindy) of Southaven, MS; daughters, Susan Gail McAllister (Doug) of Silver Creek, MS, Linda Ann Waltman of Hazlehurst, MS, Robin Veronica Griffith (Mike) of Springfield, LA; grandchildren, Joshua Swain (Jenna), Natalie Hood, Nathan Waltman (Tanesha), Phillip Waltman; 5 great grandchildren; and brother, Fred Charles Niemeyer (Ima) of Birmingham, AL.
