MARGARET NIEMEYER SIMMONS
1919 - 2010

Margaret Niemeyer Simmons, 90, of Pensacola passed away on Sunday, March 14, 2010.
Margaret was born in Seneca, MS on October 23, 1919. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was devoted to God and her family. Margaret truly touched lives of many.
Margaret was a member of the Cathedral of the Sacred Heart since 1948. She served on the Sanctuary Society, volunteered at St. Vincent DePaul Society and the Alpha Center. She was presented many awards for outstanding service. Margaret retired from Sears after 23 years of service.
Margaret loved being with her family. She enjoyed cooking, walking, flowers and helping others. She will be greatly missed by all.
Her parents, Fred and Mary Ann Niemeyer; brothers, Fr. John Niemeyer, Butch Niemeyer, Pat Niemeyer, Henry Niemeyer and Benny Niemeyer; and sister, Henrietta Holly, preceded Margaret in death.
Survivors include her loving husband of 62 years, Paul Kenneth Simmons, Sr.; three daughters, Paula Woodham (Kye), Sharon Black and Peggy Darling (Davis); four sons, Kenny Simmons (Maxine), James Simmons, Albert Simmons (Liza) and Bill Simmons (Debby); brother, Fred Niemeyer (Ima); sister, Mary Ann Waltman (Bob); 14 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.
Rosary will be prayed at 6:00pm followed by the visitation until 7:30pm Tuesday, March 16, 2010 at the Cathedral of the Sacred Heart.
Funeral Mass will be at 10:00am Wednesday, March 17, 2010 at the Cathedral of the Sacred Heart, with Msgr. Michael Reed, celebrant. Burial will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery.
