Dresbach, Minn - John A. Carson, 91, died suddenly at 6 p.m. Sunday at his home one mile west of here. Death was due to a heart attack and the infirmities of age.
Mr. Carson was born March 22, 1850, in Denmark, and came to this country when four years old with his parents, the family settling in Iowa. When Mr. Carson was nine years old, the family moved to the farm near here now owned by Theodore and John Nagel. Mr. Carson lived there until he married Helen Zisch June 30, 1870. After their marriage, they settled on the present farm. Mrs. Carson died in November, 1938. One daughter is dead.
Four children survive, John who operates the farm; Henry, Dresbach; Mrs. William (Minne) Gerdes, Pine Creek, Minn., and Mrs. Michael (Helen) Gerdes, Rose Valley, Minn. Ten grandchildren and six great-grandchildren also survive.
Mr. Carson for seven years traveled for the Champion Farm Machinery Company in the La Crosse territory. He was active in farm work until two years ago.
Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday at 2:30 p.m. in the Episcopal church at Dresbach, a Methodist minister officiating. Preliminary services will be conducted at 2 p.m. at the home. Burial will be in the family lot in Oakland cemetery, Dresbach.
