Henry Richert

ELYRIA - Henry Edward Richert, 86, of Elyria, a financial manager for various financial firms, died this morning in the emergency room of Elyria Memorial Hospital after being stricken at Center Ridge Nursing Home in North Ridgeville. He was a patient at the nursing home for five weeks.

A Cleveland native, Richard resided in Cleveland for 40 years. He later moved to Lorain and lived there for 38 years before moving to Elyria 10 years ago. He graduated from Case High School in 1917.

He served with the War Assets Administration during and after World War II working at the Cleveland Office.

A life member of the Lorain Elks Club No. 1301, he also belonged to the American Association of Retired Persons and the Elyria Senior Fellowship.

Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Martha E. [nee MacLean]; daughters Mrs. Richard [Marilyn] Esser and Ray [Carolyn] Lilly, both of Lorain; six grandchildren and sister, Olyga Fahrenthold of Prairie Village, Kansas.

Friends may call tomorrow, 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., at the Hempel Funeral Home, Amherst, where rites will be Wednesday at 1 p.m. The Rev. Arthur C. Sperry, pastor of the First United Methodist Church in Elyria, will officiate. Burial will be in Crownhill Cemetery, Amherst.

The family suggests memorial contributions may be made to the First United Methodist CHurch in ELyria or to a charity of your choice.
