Martha Richert

LORAIN - Martha E. Richert [nee MacLean], 78, a resident of Anchor Lodge Nursing Home in Lorain, was pronounced dead yesterday in the emergency room of St. Joseph Hospital.

She was born and reared in Cleveland and was a 1926 graduate of Shaw High School.

She lived in Lorain from 1942 to 1976 and in Elyria from 1976 to 1986 before returning to Lorain a few months ago.

Mrs. Richert did the payroll for the shop at Nelson Stud Division of TRW in Lorain. She retired in 1971 after 25 years.

She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Elyria, Elyria Memorial Hospital Auxiliary and was a volunteer for the American Red Cross.

Surviving are daughters Mrs. Richard [Marilyn] Esser and Mrs. Ray [Carolyn] .Lilly, both of Lorain; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; and a brother Harold MacLean of Mayfield Heights. Her husband of 55 years, Henry E., died June 22, 1986.

Friends will be received today, 4 to 9 p.m., at the Hempel Funeral Home, 373 Cleveland Ave., Amherst, where rites will be at 2 p.m. tomorrow. The Rev. Arthur Sperry, pastor of the First United Methodist Church in Elyria, will officiate. Burial will be in Crownhill Cemetery, Amherst.

The family suggests memorial contributions may be made to the First United Methodist Church, Elyria.
