He was born April 27, 1925 in Portales, N.M. He served in the U.S. Navy for 3 1/2 years during WWII. He married Lillie Owens and was married for 18 years. He had many jobs after the Navy, but he is best remembered for being one of nicest and best snowcone men ever!
He is preceded in death by his parents, Alvin and Wilma Fails, two sisters and a brother.
He was a devoted father, and grandfather, and no one loved him more than his son and daughter and grandkids.
He is survived by his son, Travis Warren Fails of Odessa, daughter, Judith Jealene "Johnnie" Meyer of Odessa, brothers, Alvin Harrison Fails of Clovis, NM., Albert Sydney "Buster" Fails of Portales, NM., sisters, Zanobia Pauline Howle of Portales, Mildred Betsy Worley of Clovis, (3) grandchildren, Patrick Randal Meyer, James Matthew Meyer and John Michael Meyer; and former wife, Lillie Mae (Judy) Owens of Odessa.
He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, February 25, 2006 at Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
