Anna Maria Schieffelin was a daughter of Jacob Schieffelin and Hannah Lawrence.

At the age of 19, she married Benjamin Ferris, 36, Sheriff of New York County, on 2 April 1808 in Manhattan.

Mother of nine children.

She died of consumption or phthisis (tuberculosis) at the age of 55 at her home at 770 Broadway in Manhattan.
