Daniel Behr, age 101 of Kenosha peacefully went to be with his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, August 19, 2009, at his residence surrounded by his family. Born on September 25, 1907, in Germany, he was the son of the late John and Anna Behr. He moved to Kansas as a youngster and was educated there. At the age of eighteen, Dan moved to Kenosha and later met and married Hertha Kaiser. They were married for 54 years. She preceded him in death on June 10, 1982. In 1983, he married Wilma (Kopf) Quam. Dan had a variety of jobs in his lifetime. The latest was as the plant supervisor at Quaker Industries in Antioch, IL. He was a faithful member of the Immanuel Baptist Church where he held many positions throughout the years. Dan was still an usher in his early nineties. Dan enjoyed to fish, bowl and golf. Memorable times were spent when Dan golfed twice a week with his son and two sons-in-law. At the young age of 90, Dan proudly received an award for getting a Hole in One. A loving husband, father and grandfather, Dan will be greatly missed by his wife, Wilma; children, Melvin (Lorraine) Behr, Sr., Elayne (Andy) Stipanuk and Jan (Ron) Housaman, both of Kenosha; Byron (Elsa) Quam of Cottage Grove, WI, Pat (Doug) Lueck of Decatur, IL, and Sharon (Shri) Satwalikar of Edmond, OK; fifteen grandchildren, Dan (Pam) Stipanuk, Donna (Kevin) May, Lori (Jim) Wynstra, Tom (Kathy) Housaman, Melvin (Lisa) Behr, Jr., David (Julie) Housaman, Doug (Gina) Behr, Chad (Toni) Lueck, Christi (John) Mulcahey, Adam, Tim (Marjet), Alex, and Tyler Quam, and Jason and Jenny Satwalikar; and twenty-two great-grandchildren, Heather, Holly, Becky, Janet, Brett, Emily, Ally, Samantha, Hillary, Cassie, Nicole, Jeff, Carson, Holden, Taylor, Alana, Brogan, Austin, Samantha, Hunter, Destiny and Tristan.

Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, August 26, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at the Immanuel Baptist Church, 6009 Pershing Blvd. Interment will be held in Sunset Ridge Memorial Park.
