Found in The State 20 April 1970: Mrs. John A. Brunson, 59, of 1009 Duke Ave., Cashier for the State-Record Co., died Sunday in the Baptist Hospital. Mrs. Brunson the former Kathryne Thomas, was born in Savannah, Ga., daughter of the late Raymond Mitchell and Katie Austin Thomas. She was a member of the Lutheran Church of the Ascension. Surviving are her husband; a daughter, Mrs. J. G. Hollis of Des Moines, Iowa; a son, L. A. Brunson of Harrisburg, Pa.; 8 grandchildren; and two brothers, R. M. Thomas of Savannah, Ga., and W. E. Thomas of Columbia.
