OBITUARY:
RAYMOND THOMAS SR.
Raymond Mitchell Thomas Sr., 72, of 2 Arthur Circle died Thursday morning at the Talmadge Memorial Hospital in Augusta after a long illness.
The retired foreman for the Seaboard Air Line Railway had been a supervisor in the machine shop for 23 years. He was a member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Sadie Thee Thomas; a daughter, Mrs. Alec Brunson of Columbia, S. C.; three sons, R. M. Thomas, Jr. and William B. Thomas, both of Savannah, and John H. Thomas of Jacksonville, Fla.; two step-sons, Lawrence F. Thee and Walter E. Thee, both of Savannah; 13 grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted at 3 p.m. today at Henderson Brothers Funeral Home by Rev. Albert Huntington Hatch, rector of the Holy Apostles Episcopal Church. Burial will be in Hillcrest Abbey Memorial Park.
Pallbearers will be M. E. Scott, C. Webb, J. V. Armand, R. T. Cowan, J. T. Smith, and O. E. Brandt.
