Mrs. Alma Arndt, 77, of 1824 N. 20th St., died late Wednesday night at the home of her son, Melvin, at 1921 N. 3rd St., after a brief illness.
She was born Feb. 1, 1882, in Germany, a daughter of the late Christ and Johanna Huebner. After the death of her father, she came to America with her mother, settling in Sheboygan in 1884.
Her mother subsequently married Albert Albrecht with whom Mrs. Arndt resided as a child. She attended Trinity Lutheran School and was confirmed at Trinity Church in 1896.
On June 4, 1904, she was married to William Arndt at St. Peter Lutheran Church at Haven.
The couple operated a farm in the Town of Mosel until Mr. Arndt's death in 1947.
Since then, Mrs. Arndt made her home with a son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Rickmeyer, at 1824 N. 20th St. She had stayed with her son since her illness last Friday.
Mrs. Arndt was a member of St. Mark Lutheran Church.
Survivors are the son, Melvin; the daughter, Mrs. Robert (Verona) Rickmeyer; three great-grandchildren; two brothers, Reinhardt and Charles Huebner, Sheboygan, and two half-brothers, Gust Senkbeil, Sheboygan, and Henry Senkbeil of Colby, Wis.
Two half-sisters also preceded her in death.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the Ballhorn Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Louis Huber, pastor of St. Mark Lutheran Church, officiating. Burial will be in the family lot in Lutheran Cemetery.
The body will lie in state at the funeral chapel after 2 p.m. Friday.
