HARDIN Jacob A. "Jake" Metzker, an automotive and farm-machinery mechanic who settled in Big Horn County in 1919. died at age 80 Sunday in the Hardin hospital. He was born in Siberia. Russia, and came with his parents in 1900 to Saginaw, Mich., then to Billings. Worden and Hardin. In 1928 he married Laura Herbel in Hysham. His wife died in 1977. Mr. Metzker had worked at International Harvester Co., Big Horn Implement Co., Valley Implement Co. and Allis Chalmers Implement Co. Survivors include a daughter, Elizabeth Martin of Billings; two sons, William Metzker of Hardin and Lawrence Metzker of Dayton. Ore.; nine grandchildren, and six greatgrandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m.Wednesday in Bullis Funeral Chapel. Burial will be in Hardin Fairview Cemetery. The Billings Gazette 7-10-1979
