DAVENPORT - Lyle Burmeister, of Davenport, passed away at his home on Monday, Feb. 28, 2005. Memorial service will be 11:30 a.m. Friday, March 4 at Runge Mortuary Chapel with visitation at 10 a.m. until service time at the mortuary. Inurnment will be in Davenport Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the family. Lyle was born on July 11, 1927, to Alvin and Mayme Burmeister in Big Rock, Iowa. He married Barbara Mills in Davenport, she preceded him in death. He worked at Oscar Mayer for 25 years. Survivors include his sons and daughters-in-law, Kenny and Candy Burmeister, Davenport; Randy and Donna Burmeister, New Liberty, Iowa; Gary and Rita Burmeister, Tipton, Iowa; Rick and Lydia, Canton, Ga.; daughters and sons-in-law, LuAnne and Kim Huckstadt, Maquoketa, Iowa; Linda and Matt Stiles, Washington; 11 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; brother, Virgil Burmeister, Davenport; sisters, Verba Claeys, Lansing, Mich.; Helen Paustian, Davenport; Joan Pruess, Tipton; Betty Risley, Duluth, Ga; and a special friend, MaryLee Sindt, Dixon, Iowa. He was preceded in death by his brothers, LeRoy, Donald, Dale, sisters, Joyce, Marilyn, and his parents.
