German WW2 General. He entered the Army service as a Fähnrich (officer candidate) in the 3rd Railway Regiment in 1911, and later became a non-combatant decorated veteran of the First World War. With the outbreak of World War II he was commander of the 68th Railway Pioneer Regiment, he was promoted to Generalleutnant der Pioniere. Kommandeur des Ersatzheeres. Von Donat served the whole war as a Higher Railway Commander and ended the war as Railway Pioneer Inspector with the Replacement Army. He was captured by the Allies and released from prison on June 5th, 1947. Hans von Donat passed away less then a month shy of his 101st birthday. (Bio by: Jay Lance)
