Mass of Christian Burial was Thursday, October 9, 2014 at St. Ann's Catholic Church, Miller with Father Chester Murtha, celebrant. Burial followed at St. Ann's Cemetery, Miller.
Joan was born December 4, 1934 fifteen minutes after her identical twin sister Jean in Ramona, SD to Conrad and Marie (Gruber) Rensch. She went to school and graduated in Ramona. She married the love of her life, Dwaine Hoftiezer on June 16, 1956. They lived in Sioux Falls and moved to Miller in 1960.
Joan was a stay at home mom while her children were being raised. She later worked in the kitchen at the Miller Hospital for 17 years. She was a member of the St. Ann's Alter society. Joan loved reading, playing cards, playing any board games and listening to Danny O' Donnell. Joan wouldn't admit it, but she was very creative and artistic. Her faith was important to her and she said the Rosary daily.
Family that has preceded her death are her parents, Conrad and Marie Rensch; sisters: Mary Lois, Maxine, Devota, Phyllis and her twin Jean; and brothers, Conrad Jr. and Carroll.
