T. Prince, Jr.

Tony Prince, Jr., 53, 619 Bern Drive, a retired Air Force lieutenant colonel who had lived in Great Falls the last 16 years, died at home Sunday of leukemia.

He was born Feb. 28, 1920, in Lowell, Ariz., attended schools there and later graduated from Luke Flight School, Phoenix. He entered the military as a pilot shortly after the start of World War II and served in the South Pacific theater. He later served in the Korean conflict.

Prince was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross, Air Medal with clusters, Bronze Star, American Defense Medal, Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal, United Service Medal, World War II Victory Medal, Presidential Unit Citation, National Defense Service Medal, Air Force Outstanding Unit Award and Air Force Longevity Award. He was a member of the Elks Lodge of Bisbee, Ariz., Veterans of Foreign Wars, Air Force Reserve Association, Disabled American Veterans and American Legion.

Survivors include the widow, June J., and a son, Anthony L., both of Great Falls; daughter Kathleen, attending the University of Arizona; mother Mrs. Ursula Capt, sister, Mrs. Ray (Ursula) Whelan, and a brother, Louis, all of Lowell, Ariz.; another sister, Mrs. Charles (Evelyn) Roberts, Tucson, Ariz., and a grandson.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Chapel of the Chimes with a chaplain from Malmstrom Air Force Base officiating. Burial will be with military honors at graveside in Custer Battlefield National Cemetery at a time to be announced.
